AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days Swap Meet Sells Out

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Permco AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, presented by Yamaha, is home to the largest motorcycle swap meet in North America, and this year it’s bigger than ever. The swap meet, which features 825 vendor spots, has already sold out — a testament to the growing size of 2024 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days as the AMA celebrates its 100th anniversary.

With MotoAmerica set to bring AMA Superbike racing back to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, August 16-18, we’re taking a closer look at past Superbike races at the iconic racetrack in Lexington, Ohio.

Yamaha’s Josh Hayes earned his first career AMA Superbike pole position on a Friday in July of 2009 and a day later he earned his second victory in the class with a narrow victory over Jordan Suzuki’s Aaron Yates at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. It was the beginning of a good run for Hayes. A day later and Hayes was at it again, giving Yamaha back-to-back AMA Superbike wins for the first time in 15 years. It was also Yamaha’s first one-two in almost 15 years.

O’Ward Holds Off Palou To Win Late Thriller at Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, Ohio (Sunday, July 7, 2024) – Pato O’Ward resisted constant pressure from NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship leader Alex Palou over the closing laps to win The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Presented by the 2025 Civic Hybrid on Sunday.

O’Ward slid his No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet sideways through the final corner on the 13-turn, 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to hold off Palou’s No. 10 Ridgeline Lubricants Chip Ganassi Racing Honda by .4993 of a second, the closest finish this season on a road or street circuit.

Collet Dominates at Mid-Ohio To Earn First Career Victory

LEXINGTON, Ohio (Sunday, July 7, 2024) – Caio Collet left no doubt.

Brazilian rookie Collet led all 35 laps from the pole to earn his first career INDY NXT by Firestone victory Sunday in the Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio. Collet drove his No. 18 HMD Motorsports entry to a 6.8091-second victory over runner-up Louis Foster in the No. 26 Copart/Novara Technologies car fielded by Andretti Global.

Palou Stays Hot To Edge O’Ward for Mid-Ohio Pole

LEXINGTON, Ohio (Saturday, July 6, 2024) – The relentless pressure of Alex Palou prevailed again Saturday, as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship leader won the NTT P1 Award for The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Presented by the 2025 Civic Hybrid.

Palou earned his second consecutive pole and third NTT P1 Award in the last six races this season with a top lap of 1 minute, 5.3511 seconds in the No. 10 Ridgeline Lubricants Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.

Papasavvas is Perfect in Flag-to-Flag  Home USF2000 Win

LEXINGTON, Ohio – Local driver Evagoras Papasavvas put a disappointing Friday firmly behind him as he sped to a flag-to-flag victory for Jay Howard Driver Development in this afternoon’s second leg of the Tatuus Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio tripleheader. On pole for the second straight day, Papasavvas, from Loveland, Ohio, repeated his maiden success from one year ago. He also moved up to second place in the USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire point standings with his first win of the season.

Teammate Michael Costello, from Naples, Fla., maintained his recent strong form by claiming a second runner-up finish in his last three races, while Elliot Cox, from Indianapolis, Ind., also snagged his second podium finish of the season with third in his patriotically liveried Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing Development Tatuus USF-22.
